Money Spending Expert.....

Just ordered a Humax PVR 160Gb HDD Twin Tuner system for my room. Its basically a VCR but is uses a HDD to store the programmes on. It will enable me to stop pestering mum and dad asking them to record something for me which of course, they will forget to do!

Here is the link for it from the Humax website, must add that it was ordered from a local shop in comber, still beating curry's price!

Have to collect it next Thursday; can't wait to test it out!!

Anyone else noticed that ITV2 is not showing anything after around 10:30pm on freeview channel 31 due to "legal reasons?" I found this most strange as they had been showing all night and day. Something must have changed though.

Also the other half returned from her holiday with the parents to Tenerife, a good time was had with lovely weather and long lazy days by the pool soaking up the sun! I'm sure they got a shock when they got off the plane into the cloudy 15oC climate back home!

Still nothing thru the post for QUB registration too!!

*Sigh*

Car problems.....

A strange thing has started to happen with my mother's car which is the same make and model as mine. On the key itself, there is a button for the central locking to lock/unlock the car. Over the past 2 weeks or so this has become intermittent and as such we can not lock or unlock the car remotely, instead having to lock the doors manually, which is a right pain in the ass!

An appointment has been made with the manufacturer as it is still in warranty to get this looked at. It seems not to be the key itself as the battery is healthy (on account of the red light flashing when the button is pressed) and even the spare key in the house is not opening or locking the car and that battery is healthy too. The fuse has been checked and all appears normal.

I will report back with an update as soon as one is available. :)

Back to University

Well, the summer has come and is almost gone, meaning that the inevitable hard work of final year will soon start located in the Ashby building (pictured right). 4 years of study and 1 year out in industry makes one long bad ass course that I will be glad to finish, but also sad to put behind me, as I now appreciate that these "school" days are the best of your life!

Several of my friends who were on the same course but doing the BEng course (3 years learning and optional 1 year in placement) have already left and graduated and are in employment. I have to say that I will miss them and all the whitty banter that we got up to in the early mornings at QUB.

Looking forward to the final "goal" of graduation in early July 2008, I have 3 technical modules, 2 projects and a small law and employment course to complete and then exams in May/June. After this I shall embark upon the route of employment and see where that leads me.

Registration documents have still not come through the post yet, but it will have to be done by Friday the 21st, as the first day of term will be Monday the 24th September 2008.

In the beginning......

As the title suggests, this is my first ever attempt at a "blog," and I am going to try my best to keep it as up to date as I possibly can!

Any comments/suggestions are gratefully received.
